MPEG, short for Motion Picture Experts Group, is an term used to describe various types of digital video format encoding. In the home or on the road, MPEG video players stream or play back content stored most commonly in MPEG-4 or MP4 format. These units offer increased convenience by allowing viewing of video files the same way most are accustomed to listening to MP3 music formats, freeing viewers from carrying around physical media.
